POST 12 : OLD - FASHIONED FAMILY TALK
This document is a cartoon created by CantĂș Casidlanos that deals with the lack of exchange in family due to the virtual space generated by internet and cell-phones. In the first picture we can see a father and his daughter preparing and moving chairs. The father explains that his daughter and kids in general have lost their "ability to comunicate person-to-person". Then in the second one, it's quite clear that he has to organize an "old-fashioned family talk" in order to reestablish communication with his daughter. Yet, what surprise when the little girl get an app generating topics of discussion ! It was not at all what the father expected. The cartoonist makes a critic of the smartphone addiction hindering social interaction with people (in this cas with our own family! ). In addition to this, we can't deny that the fall of this cartoon is really satirical and well found. That's make it clear that a space supposed connects people together as internet or social networks, actually divides even members of a family.
To conclude, we can't deny the importance of virtual space as internet, social networks, cellphones in our life. Indeed this virtual space has connected people from every part of the world allows them to communicate each others. Yet, we have to be careful that this way of communication doesn't hinder social interaction in real life. It's true that virtual space makes us disconnect from real life.
